Boy, 12, badly hurt
in car accident

A 12-year-old boy is in critical condition after being hit by a car in Bustleton Friday.
Daniel Himes, of the 600 block of Artwood Drive, was crossing Verree Road near Alburger Avenue at about 6:25 p.m. when he was struck by a 2003 Ford Mustang.
The driver, Aida Acevedo, 41, of the 5300 block of Tabor Road, stopped after the accident and stayed on the scene, police said.
Himes was taken to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Police could not reveal his injuries. The police department’s accident investigation division was still probing the incident as the Times went to press. No charges have been filed against Acevedo. ••
