Three Northeast Philadelphia homicides last weekend helped raise the city’s murder total to 58 thus far in 2007, nine more than at the same time last year.
All three Northeast killings were gunshot related. The latest occurred Sunday night on the 1600 block of Harrison St. in Frankford. Robert Henderson, 31, was found in the vestibule of his apartment building just after 7 p.m. with multiple gunshot wounds, said Officer Raul Malveiro, a police department spokesman.
City medics pronounced Henderson dead at the scene at 7:14 p.m. Police are unsure of a motive and have made no arrests in the case.
On Saturday just before 2 a.m., Jared Taylor, 29, of the 600 block of Levick St. in Lawndale, was found on the 5300 block of Claridge St. with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso, Malveiro said. Taylor was pronounced dead at 2:31 a.m. at Albert Einstein Medical Center.
Investigators believe the shooting occurred during an altercation outside the Empty Glass bar, at 723 Adams Ave. Police have made no arrests.
Shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Friday, police discovered the body of Harrison Fambrough, 25, of the 10000 block of Northeast Ave., inside a gold Buick parked along the 2900 block of Welsh Road in the Pennypack section of the Northeast.
He had a single gunshot wound to his chest and was pronounced dead at the scene within minutes, Malveiro said. Police are unsure of a motive in the killing and have made no arrests.
