Police name their
most-wanted criminals
The Philadelphia Police Departments Northeast Detective Division has released its Five Most Wanted list for the four-week period that began on April 28.
The suspects on the list include:
o Christopher Jackson, 40, of E. Godfrey Ave. in the Lower Northeast, who is wanted for commercial burglary. Jackson allegedly broke into the warehouse of the Jomar store, at 5300 Whitaker Ave., four times between March 1 and March 8. Each time, the store reported $3,000 damage. The stolen merchandise was valued at a combined $3,300 and included an MP3 player, a CD player, an electric razor, watches, perfume, a computer printer, a camera, coats and other items. Jackson is black, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
o John Johnson, a.k.a. Sydney Thomas, 34, formerly of the 6100 block of Erdrick St. in Wissinoming, who is wanted for aggravated assault and related offenses. On Jan. 7 at about 9:45 a.m., Johnson allegedly argued with his girlfriend in their home, grabbed her by the head and shoved her through a window, causing a cut that required numerous stitches to close. He then fled the scene. The victim knows the suspect as Thomas, but identified a prior Philadelphia police photo of him filed under the name Johnson. He is black, 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 225 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
o Tarrell R. Rister, 18, of the 4800 block of Tackawanna St. in East Frankford, who is wanted for multiple counts of attempted murder, assault with a firearm and related offenses. On March 27, at about 8:20 p.m., Rister and another man allegedly went to a home on the 1800 block of Gillingham St., waited outside and ambushed a man and woman as they exited the front door. When the victims, a brother and sister, fled inside, shots were fired. The woman was wounded in the legs with shotgun pellets. The victims said they saw Rister holding a gun and the other man holding a shotgun moments before the shooting. The second suspect was later arrested. Rister is considered armed and dangerous. He is black, 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 205 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
o Nicholas Soldavini, 21, of the 4600 block of E. Thompson St. in Bridesburg, who is wanted for burglary, conspiracy, criminal trespass and theft. On March 20, Soldavini allegedly broke into a home on the 4800 block of E. Thompson St., and stole numerous items, including a PlayStation game system, game discs, memory cards, game controllers and DVDs. He allegedly fled out the back door. The victim reported the crime after arriving home from work. Soldavini was identified via fingerprint evidence. He is white, 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 180 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
o Walter Samuel Townsend, 40, of the 6100 block of Algard St. in Wissinoming, who is wanted for witness intimidation, retaliation, terroristic threats, stalking and related offenses. On Feb. 26, Townsend allegedly entered a Wawa at Harbison Avenue and Comly Street and confronted a woman whose husband is a witness in a separate pending criminal case against Townsend. Townsend allegedly threatened the woman and her husband. The prior criminal case involves a shooting. Townsend is considered armed and dangerous. He is white, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 145 pounds. He is bald and has blue eyes.
