Mike Templeton lives in Delanco, N.J., along the Delaware River, home to all kinds of sounds.
None of those sounds is louder and more annoying, he said, than the music coming from parties at Glen Foerd on the Delaware, a mansion located on Grant Avenue in Torresdale.
"It shakes the windows in my house," he said.
Glen Foerd, underfunded by the city, relies on parties for its upkeep. The Glen Foerd Conservation Corporation has an exclusive contract with Conroy Catering.
Owner Jack Conroy and general manager Jennifer Berwick arrange wedding receptions, graduation parties, conferences and political events at the historic mansion.
Conroy finds it hard to believe that the music can travel 6,000 feet upstream across the river and disturb a man in another state.
"I think that’s a scientific impossibility," he said. . . .

As disputes go, it certainly is different.
We have Mike Templeton, a guy who lives along the riverfront in Delanco, N.J., and claims he can hear the noise and music of parties booked at Glen Foerd. We have Jack Conroy, the caterer who hosts these wedding receptions and parties at the grand Torresdale mansion, and claims he has really tried to appease Templeton.
