Cops seize coke
in two narc busts
Members of the Philadelphia Police Departments Narcotics Field Unit Northeast 2 Squad executed two local drug seizures on April 26, netting about $109,000 worth of cocaine and crack.
The big bust occurred at about 8 p.m. in the 4100 block of Torresdale Ave., in Lower Frankford, when undercover officers stopped a Chevy Lumina occupied two men following a period of surveillance.
They arrested the driver, Erinson Lora, 24, of the 6200 block of Souder St., along with a passenger, Bruno Torres, 30, of the 5000 block of Torresdale Ave.
Armed with a search warrant, the officers allegedly found a 1,050-gram brick of cocaine inside the car, said Cpl. Anthony Piluso of the Narcotics Bureau.
Both men were charged with drug possession and delivery offenses.
The Federal Bureau of Investiga-tion assisted in the police operation.
Earlier that day, at 1:54 p.m., the same narcotics unit stopped a Mercury Grand Marquis on the 4200 block of Carteret Drive, in Torresdale, and upon a search of the vehicle recovered 34 grams of crack and 8.4 grams of cocaine, with a combined value of about $4,240, Piluso said.
Officers arrested the driver, Aaron Dixon, 23, and the passenger, William Bowes, 23, both of the 1600 block of Gowan St., and charged them with drug possession and delivery offenses.
According to Piluso, undercover officers observed the men delivering shipments of crack in the area.
